RADCam Installation Instructions

Follow these detailed steps to install your RADCam securely and ensure optimal performance.


Tools and Materials Needed

Before you begin, gather these tools:

  • Drill (with appropriate bits for surface type)
  • Phillips head screwdriver
  • Tape measure
  • Pencil or marker for marking drill holes
  • Ladder (if needed)
  • Additional mounting hardware (e.g., masonry screws or anchors, if required)
  • Weatherproof cable extensions (if power outlet is not nearby)

Step 1: Choose the Installation Location

  • Location Tips: Ensure the location provides a clear, unobstructed view and is within reach of a power outlet.
  • Avoid: Excessive direct sunlight, heavy rain, or extreme shadows that may affect video quality.

Step 2: Prepare the Mounting Surface

  • For Wood or Siding:

    • Use the included wood screws.
    • Drill pilot holes to prevent wood from splitting.
  • For Masonry, Brick, or Concrete:

    • Use a masonry drill bit to create holes.
    • Insert wall anchors or use masonry screws (not included in the kit).
  • For Other Surfaces:

    • Consult a hardware store for compatible screws or anchors.

Step 3: Mount the RADCam

  1. Hold the mounting base of the RADCam against the surface.
  2. Mark the screw holes with a pencil or marker.
  3. Drill necessary holes based on the surface type.
  4. Secure the RADCam with screws.

Step 4: Connect to Power

  • Power Cable: Route from RADCam to the nearest outlet.
  • Extension Cable: Use a weatherproof extension cable if the outlet is far away.
  • Secure the Cable: Attach the cable along walls or eaves with cable clips.

Step 5: Adjust the Camera Angle

  • Use the adjustable bracket to position the camera and ensure the desired field of view.
  • Test the view using the RADCam app to confirm proper coverage.

Step 6: Configure the Camera

  1. Open the RADCam app on your smartphone.
  2. Follow the in-app instructions to connect to Wi-Fi.
  3. Complete firmware updates as necessary.
