Last updated: 07/30/2024
Introduction
This privacy policy explains how Robotic Assistance Devices Residential, Inc. (RAD-R) and its affiliates collect, use, and share your personal data when you purchase and use the RADCam device and system. RADCam is a product solution that consists of a CCTV camera and a chatbot that can listen and respond to conversations using visual analytics and natural language processing. By using RADCam, you agree to this privacy policy and consent to our data practices. If you do not agree, please do not use RADCam or provide us with any personal data.
What data do we collect and how do we use it?
We collect different types of data from you and your RADCam device and system, depending on how you interact with us and what settings and preferences you choose. We use this data for various purposes, such as providing you with our products and services, improving our products and services, communicating with you, and protecting our rights and interests. Here are some examples of the data we collect and how we use it:
- Identification data: This includes your name, address, phone number, and email address. We collect this data when you purchase RADCam or register for an account with us. We use this data to deliver RADCam to you, verify your identity, contact you for customer service or marketing purposes, and send you updates on RADCam and our other products and services. We may also use this data to comply with legal obligations or prevent fraud and abuse.
- Payment data: This includes your credit card information and billing address. We collect this data when you purchase RADCam or subscribe to any of our services. We do not store this data ourselves, but we use a third-party service provider called Shopify, Inc. to process your payments and store your payment data. Please refer to Shopify's privacy policy for details on how they manage the data they use and store.
- Device and system data: This includes the serial number, model, firmware version, and settings of your RADCam device and system. We collect this data when you activate, update, or use RADCam. We use this data to provide you with the functionality and features of RADCam, monitor and improve the performance and security of RADCam, and troubleshoot any issues or errors.
- Camera and chatbot data: This includes the video and audio recordings, images, and transcripts of the conversations that your RADCam device and chatbot capture, hear, and generate. We collect this data when you use RADCam or when RADCam is triggered by a camera notification that a human is in view or by a firearm notification if you have activated that option. We use this data to provide you with the functionality and features of RADCam, such as responding to your queries, commands, or requests, alerting you of any incidents or events, and sending you an email summary of each engagement. We may also use this data to improve the accuracy and quality of our visual analytics and natural language processing technologies, and to train and develop new products and services.
- Third-party monitoring data: This includes your name, address, and camera feed. We collect this data when you opt-in to use a third-party monitoring option from a company named Centralized Vision. Centralized Vision will have access to your name, address, and camera feed, and can watch your camera in real time, but only when an appropriate incident has been identified. Centralized Vision will use this data to provide you with the monitoring service and to notify you or the authorities of any emergencies or threats. Please refer to Centralized Vision's privacy policy for details on how they manage the data they use and store.
How do we share your data?
We do not sell or rent your personal data to any third parties for their own marketing purposes. We only share your personal data with your consent or as necessary to provide you with our products and services, or as required by law or for legitimate interests. Here are some examples of how we share your data:
- With our affiliates: We may share your data with our affiliates, such as Robotic Assistance Devices, Inc., for the purposes of providing you with our products and services, improving our products and services, communicating with you, and protecting our rights and interests.
- With our service providers: We may share your data with our service providers, such as Shopify, Inc. and Centralized Vision, who help us with payment processing, monitoring, marketing, analytics, or other functions that support our business operations. We require our service providers to use your data only in accordance with our instructions and for no other purposes, and to protect your data with appropriate security measures.
- With law enforcement or regulators: We may share your data with law enforcement or regulators if we believe that doing so is necessary to comply with a legal obligation, a court order, a subpoena, or a warrant, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of us, you, or others. We may also share your data with law enforcement or regulators if we believe that doing so is necessary to prevent, detect, or investigate fraud, abuse, or illegal activity, or to enforce our terms of service or other agreements.
- With other parties in connection with a corporate transaction: We may share your data with other parties in connection with a merger, acquisition, sale, or other corporate transaction involving us or our affiliates. In such cases, we will notify you of any changes to this privacy policy or your rights and choices regarding your data.
How do we store and secure your data?
We store your data on our servers or on the servers of our service providers, which may be located in different countries or regions. We use appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data from unauthorized access, use, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. However, no data transmission or storage system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your data. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and password, and for preventing unauthorized access to your RADCam device and system. You should also be aware that your RADCam device records video on an SD card that you insert into the device, and that this SD card is unencrypted and can be viewed by anyone who has access to it, even if they are not the owner. You should keep your SD card in a safe place and erase or destroy it when you no longer need it.
How long do we keep your data?
We keep your data for as long as necessary to provide you with our products and services, or as required by law or for legitimate interests. We may retain some of your data even after you stop using RADCam or delete your account, for example, to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, or protect our rights and interests. We will delete or anonymize your data when we no longer need it for these purposes, or when you request us to do so, subject to any legal or technical limitations.
What rights and choices do you have?
You have certain rights and choices regarding your personal data, depending on the laws and regulations that apply to you. These may include the right to access, correct, update, delete, or restrict the use of your data, or the right to object to or withdraw your consent to certain uses of your data. You may also have the right to receive a copy of your data in a portable format, or to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. To exercise any of these rights or choices, or to request more information, please contact us at info@radresidential.ai. We will respond to your request as soon as possible, and in any case, within the time frame required by law. We may ask you to verify your identity or provide additional information before we can process your request. We may also charge a reasonable fee or refuse your request if it is excessive, repetitive, or unfounded, subject to applicable law.
How do we update this privacy policy?
We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in our data practices, products, services, or legal requirements. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the updated privacy policy on our website or by sending you an email. We encourage you to review this privacy policy periodically to stay informed of how we handle your personal data. Your continued use of RADCam after we update this privacy policy constitutes your acceptance of the changes, unless otherwise required by law.
